The Truth About Contract Photographers

A contract photographer enters into an agreement with a school where he provides low cost or free photography services for the yearbook etc. and in exchange the school promotes them as the "contract photographer." Fundamentally, we see nothing wrong with being promoted as "the contract photographer." We just think it's wrong when they try to get business through force. Purchasing senior portraits is an investment in a product that will, (for years to come, represents this time in your life). We simply don't think anyone should "restrict trade" or restrict your freedom to choose where you're going to spend your money! To promote the "contract photographer" some schools try to give the impression that only "their guy" can make the yearbook print that will meet the school's specifications. Well, that's simply not true. Lynwood Studio can create a yearbook portrait that will meet your school's spec, all we need to know is what those specs are! Most schools will tell us; but some schools keep it a secret as a way of promoting the notion that "only their guy" can make an acceptable yearbook portrait! We have worked with nearly every school in the area. Lynwood Studio portraits meet even the most particular school yearbook editors standards. And we deliver yearbook prints on time. If your school tries to choose your photographer you can do one of two things: Come to Lynwood Studio (you may have to bring the yearbook specs) we'll create a yearbook print that will meet those specs and you can try to get it accepted, or just make an extra appointment somewhere else for a yearbook picture, (you don't have to buy it! and come to Lynwood Studio for the good stuff for family and friends! Whatever you do don't cheat yourself out of great senior portraits. It may be a bit of a hassle to have to go somewhere else for the yearbook, but when you hand out your wallet pictures to your friends, you'll be glad you stuck to your guns and chose Lynwood Studio. Senior Portraits are the first major event of your Senior year! Don't Skimp!!
